Low-pressure gas acts on the large-area piston of the gas booster valve to produce high-pressure gas via the small-area piston. Generally, Sentuo gas booster valves are adopted where the air supply pressure is insufficient. They are applied in the following low-pressure working conditions: when partial units in the pneumatic circuit require high pressure; when the pressure of the plant main air pipeline declines and fails to satisfy the minimum operating pressure of pneumatic equipment, this unit can deliver high-pressure gas to maintain normal operation. It is also used in scenarios where large-bore cylinders cannot be deployed while the required output force must be guaranteed, for pneumatic remote control pressurization to compensate pressure loss, for pressure boosting of linked hydraulic cylinders, for shortening the pressurization duration of air reservoirs, and for air tightness inspection.

The booster valve operates by adopting low-pressure gas (approximately 0.2–0.8 MPa) acting on the large-area piston as the driving pressure. The air-driven reciprocating large-area piston is rigidly connected to the small-area piston via a connecting rod within the pressure boosting circuit. The air drive assembly is fitted with inlet check valve and outlet check valve, and the gas drive assembly is equipped with a cycle shaft and pilot valve. When driving gas is fed into the unit, continuous reciprocating motion is achieved, generating high-pressure gas in the pipeline and at the small piston side.
